Dear Friends and Family,

Throughout high school, God has taught me a lot about Himself and His heart for the unreached and less fortunate. With that in mind, I would like to share about an exciting ministry opportunity that God has presented to me for the upcoming summer - an opportunity to serve people in Bolivia on a short term missions trip. This trip will take place from June 28, 2019 to July 12, 2019. I will be going with a team of 9 individuals from North Toronto Chinese Baptist Church in partnership with Canadian Baptist Ministries.

During our time in Bolivia, we will be participating in home reconstructions for families that have been affected by the Chagas disease. This disease is transmitted by the Vinchuca insect, which thrives in commonly used materials for building Bolivian homes. We will also be visiting Casa de la Amistad (Friendship House), a ministry that works with vulnerable children whose parents are in prison, with hopes of giving them the chance to experience the love of Jesus and simply to have fun. Our team will be helping out with leading activities for the children during the summer camp.     

Going on missions has always been something that interested me. Now through God’s timing and sovereignty, He has provided me with this opportunity. I have decided to go on this STM trip because I want to fulfill the Great commission as well as deepen my spiritual relationship with God. I hope to encounter experiences that will broaden my perspective on what is happening around the world and to be challenged cross- culturally.
